Software Engineer at Activeviam

I joined Activeviam as a Software Engineer on the UI team responsible for Atoti UI, a business intelligence and data visualization platform. In this role, I contributed to the development and enhancement of the Atoti UI platform, working on features that improved the user experience and functionality of the platform.

In this role I was responsible for the end-to-end implementation of hundreds of features, where I had ownership of the feature from its conception, to its delivery.

I worked directly across teams including design, product management and server-teams to take vague and complex product requirements and produce robust solutions for clients spanning banks, trading firms, and retail businesses.

Technologies used: React, Typescript, Docker, AWS, Playwright

Associate Software Engineer at Monterey Bay Aquarium

I worked at the Monterey Bay Aquarium as an Associate Software Engineer on the Web Team. My role involved building and maintaining the aquarium's website, which included developing new features, optimizing performance, and ensuring a seamless user experience for visitors. This experience allowed me to apply my technical skills in a real-world setting, collaborate with a team of professionals, and contribute to the online presence of a renowned institution dedicated to marine conservation and education.

One of my biggest projects was building an internal tool for a team of marine biologists to track and manage the health and well-being of aquatic life in the ocean. This project involved working closely with the biologists to understand their needs and requirements, and then designing and implementing a solution that would help them and student scientists track the health of the ocean and its inhabitants.

Technologies used: AngularJS, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, and various APIs for data integration
